Network for a Sustainable New Haven, Inc. was formed in order to help groups and individuals in the greater New Haven to create together a sustainable community.
To accomplish this we:
- Assist in networking groups and individuals interested in sustainability in one or more of its many guises. We use our active email list-serve, website, and occasional potluck meals to accomplish this, as well as just being involved in lots of stuff.
- Educate and raise awareness of sustainability issues, whether they are environmental, social or economic. We do this by producing and/or promoting events that essential sustainability information, especially our event series: Keys to Creating a Sustainable New Haven.
- We also advocate for public outreach media, such as the New Haven Greenmap and a public exhibit highlighting the work member organizations in the New Haven Environmental Coalition (in development).
- Foster greater involvement in these issues by the larger community. A combination of the all of the above plus just plain talking with people, hearing what they think.
The website will eventually have the following features:
(Please email us your suggestions!)
